How we work
The firm follows Grant Thornton's global strategy of providing partner-led services. This means that a client service partner acts as the main coordinator to oversee the performance of each assignment. Each client service partner is also supported by specialized service division teams working hand-in-hand with each other. This means that our clients can easily tap into our in-depth knowledge pool and can also turn to several people when needing assistance on a job performed by the firm.
Why Grant Thornton
We serve dynamic, growing companies that are on the move because we too are a dynamic, growing firm on the move. Having started out as a small practice in Taipei in 1971, we joined Grant Thornton International as a member firm in 1993, and we have branch offices in Taichung and Kaohsiung, which provide good geographic coverage that can meet the needs of most companies doing business in Taiwan. We understand the needs and aspirations of growing companies on a personal level, and we have over 40 years' experience helping companies achieve these aspirations in Taiwan. On a global scale, in 2012, the Grant Thornton network posted the highest rate of growth of any of the global six public accounting firms, and won the 2013 Global Network of the Year award from the International Accounting Bulletin, the only global accounting publication serving our industry.
In addition, experience shows that you will have a better client experience with Grant Thornton than with our competitors. We measure client satisfaction on an annual basis as part of our ISO 9001 certification program. Grant Thornton Taiwan clients continuously rank as highly satisfied. This is partly thanks to our business structure, which is designed to react quickly to our clients' needs and issues. At Grant Thornton Taiwan, we are empowered to make decisions locally, rather than having to move issues up through a complex chain of command. This allows us to consistently provide clients with solutions tailor-made to their circumstances and time restrictions.
Our clients
Our clients range from the world's largest publicly listed companies to small- and medium-sized privately-owned businesses. We serve clients from most major business sectors, roughly half of which are local Taiwanese companies, while the other half are multinational corporations, including Fortune 500 companies. Unlike our larger competitors who work almost exclusively with large companies and our smaller competitors who rarely work with big international organizations, the breadth of our client base has allowed us to gain valuable insight into the complexity of how different businesses operate and the variety of issues and risks they face.
Awards we've won
In Taiwan we have achieved ISO 9001 certification every year since 2010. We were also ranked Tier 3 in the “World Tax 2014” and Tier 2 in the “World Transfer Pricing 2014” guides published by International Tax Review, which list the world's leading tax and transfer pricing advisory firms.
